Sex chats in ksa
JAKARTA: The Indonesian National Police has said that a facial recognition analysis has confirmed that a naked woman who appeared in sex chats allegedly involving Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) leader Rizieq Shihab is female activist Firza Husein.
Hery Cahyono, a face recognition expert from the police’s Indonesia Automatic Fingerprints Identification System division, said the authorities used several methods, including biometrics, to check whether the woman who appeared in the sex chats was really Firza.
The service had been banned because it failed to “comply with regulations”, an official told local news services.
It threatened that any other app that fails to comply with those regulations will also be banned.
Earlier this year, the police summoned Firza for questioning after screenshots of what appears to be steamy Whats App chats between Rizieq and Firza were uploaded to the Internet.
Firza, who was a coordinator of the Solidaritas Sahabat Cendana foundation, which is connected to the family of former president Soeharto, was reportedly having a relationship with the married man.
Internet calling over Whats App and Viber were already blocked.
Similar apps including Tango and Line are still available in the country.
Most of the sheikh’s followers on Twitter are women who debated the content of his “fatwa” (edict).
Chatting between unrelated males and females on social networking sites is forbidden in Islamic law, said Abdullah Al-Mutlaq, a member of the committee of senior scholars.
Al-Mutlaq said that having one-on-one chatting sessions is a form of “khulwa,” the Islamic term for free mixing, which he said is a gateway to sin.
Al-Mayman said: “His videos received many comments and many of the commenters of the general public demanded for him to be punished for his actions.”The pair struck up an unlikely friendship when they met by chance via the video chat site You Now.
Videos of the pair communicating with one another and dancing to each other were then uploaded onto You Tube where they gained thousands of followers.
